For the Definition of “faux Pas” I’m calling Xavier Dolan.
I loved his two first movies: raw, honest, beautiful soundtrack and effect, Xavier Dolan caught me.
After that Laurence anyways was just a great subject to pick at the time, but embellish with so much effect I could think I was watching a window media player animation. It still works and I accept it for him to experiment but god sake it was really not justify. Tom à la ferme was a try toward a new genre, well done but definitely not his best.
Mommy however just killed me…
when willing to be original Xavier Dolan made the biggest mistake ever made choosing this 1.1 screen
It’s ugly, suffocating.
When depicting the suburbian, troubled middle class with so much slang and vulgarity we can only remember that Xavier was never part of this world, and I guess everyone who like this movie, either.
Some people called that honest, I call it obnoxious, stupid, unreal.
Oh believe me I love drama, but I love drama that depicts the real and not this highly wipping story that just turn me as cold as a stone.
I almost forgot the ending for a second, this despicable ending: a happy ending where this highly sick and disturbed kid graduate from a highly respected school (Juliard’s I believe) and … MArried! Oh come on! Tell me Xavier that the only reason you got to make a such, self pity, hopeful, movie was so please your parents ?
What happen to you Dolan?
The thing that make me the most sick, is that Xavier Dolan got he’s first awards from Cannes because of the worst film he made so far.
I love him and believe he should have been rewarded way before 2014, but for this Dope? really? that makes me sick about film , festival, arranged awards and control of media..yeah cause that was it is about here.
For a better critic than mine >>
